Dr. Siddharth Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) is a highly respected doctor who dreams of expanding his hospital into a world-class medical facility. His son, Dr. Akash Sinha (Anil Kapoor), shares his vision but also struggles with his personal desires. Akash is in love with Dr. Neha Mathur (Gracy Singh), a fellow doctor.

However, their lives take a turn when Sonia Kapoor (Preity Zinta), a wealthy but spoiled and obsessive woman, enters the picture. She falls in love with Akash and, using her immense wealth, manipulates events to force him into marrying her. She promises to fund the hospital expansion in exchange for marriage, putting Akash in a moral dilemma.

The story consists of a love triangle between the three, Sonia, Akash, and Dr. Neha. The story is full of twists and turns. 

While this movie was able to make more than its budget for production ₹149.2 million with a budget of ₹100 million; it was still considered a commercial failure.

The 1981 movie explores three key themes. These themes are as follows,

He falls in love with Meera (Ranjeeta Kaur), but their relationship faces opposition due to societal pressures and personal struggles. Meanwhile, a wealthy and influential businessman, Shamsher Singh (Shammi Kapoor), plays a crucial role in shaping the fate of the young lovers.

At the same time, Deepak Parashar’s character adds another layer of drama, bringing conflicts that test Niranjan’s patience and resilience. As secrets unfold and misunderstandings grow, Niranjan is forced to choose between love and ambition.
